Terms of service
Last updated 22 August 2026
1. Who this agreement is with
Bacaan is operated by Winebald Technologies. These terms are the agreement between us and the plant that holds the account, the workshop, factory or business, not the individual who happened to sign up. If you accept these terms on behalf of a business, you are saying you are allowed to.
2. What the service is
Bacaan records manufacturing work: inventory, production runs, orders, maintenance and attendance. Workers enter that record over USSD or SMS from their own handsets; owners and supervisors read it on the web dashboard.
We provide the software. We do not manufacture anything, inspect anything or verify what is entered. The record is only as accurate as what your floor reports into it.
3. Your account
- The person who creates the plant becomes its owner and can add and remove other users.
- You are responsible for what happens under your accounts, including work done by anyone you give access to.
- Keep passwords private. Tell us promptly if you think an account has been reached by someone who should not have it.
- We may suspend an account that is being used to break the law, to attack the service, or in a way that puts other plants at risk.
4. Your data belongs to you
Everything your plant enters stays yours: materials, runs, orders, worker records and messages. We hold it to run the service for you. We do not sell it, and we do not use one plant's data to advantage another.
You can export your data while your account is open. If you close the account, ask us for an export first: see the privacy policy for how long we keep things afterwards.
5. Handset charges
Bacaan reaches your workers over USSD and SMS on ordinary mobile networks. Those networks charge for that traffic and we do not control what they charge. Session and message costs are between you, your workers and your operator.
6. Paying for it
Paid plans are billed in advance for the period shown at checkout. Prices are listed on the pricing page. If a payment fails we will tell you before anything changes about your access.
You can stop a subscription at any time and it runs to the end of the period you have paid for. We do not pro-rate part-periods unless the law where you are says we must.
7. What we promise, and what we do not
We work to keep Bacaan available and correct, and we will tell you about planned downtime in advance. We cannot promise the service is never interrupted, networks fail, operators change their rules, and hardware breaks.
Bacaan is provided as it is. We are not liable for production decisions made from the record, for lost profit, or for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud.
8. Ending the agreement
You can close your plant whenever you like. We can end this agreement if you break these terms materially and do not fix it after we have asked, or if we stop offering the service, in which case we will give you reasonable notice and time to export.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the product changes. If a change matters to you, such as pricing, rights or how data is handled, we will tell account owners before it takes effect. Continuing to use Bacaan after that means you accept the new terms.
10. Law and disputes
This agreement is governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction. Before going to court, please write to us, most things are quicker to fix directly.
11. Reaching us
Write to info@winebald.tech with anything about this agreement, including notices required under it.
